Temperature (T) is a fundamental parameter that affects the behavior of physical, chemical and biological systems in a wide variety of ways. Measuring T is important in many fields: photonic devices, nano/microelectronics, medical diagnostics, nanomedicine. Regarding the several classes of thermometers, one possible approach is to use dye luminescence thermometers. In this sense corroles have remarkable chemical and photophysical properties such fluorescence, phosphorescence and delay thermal fluorescence suitable to be used as dyes. The conjugation of two emitting entities as QDs, in ratiometric thermometers can overcome some drawbacks of mono-emitting sensor. The combination of properties of corroles and quantum dots (CdSe) foresee the preparation of corrole decorated nanocrystals a as an innovator class of ratiometric thermometers with intrinsic dual emitters to be use at nanoscale.
