P.P. Madeira graduated in Chemical Engineering in 1998 by Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon, Portugal, obtained a Master in Biotechnology in 2003 by University of Minho, Braga, Portugal, and completed his PhD in Chemical and Biological Engineering in 2008 by University of Porto/ FEUP, Portugal. P.P. Madeira published a book chapter and 40 papers in international peer-review journals with 742 citations and H-index of 19. P.P. Madeira also presented 7 oral communications and over 15 poster communications in international conferences and 1 invited lecture at the University of Aveiro. The research interests consist mostly of understanding the molecular basis and the role of the innumerous players such as proteins, salts, water, etc., on life phenomena.
