I have mainly focused my attention on the analysis of basic physical-chemistry issues such as site occupancy of activator ions, energy transfer dynamics between different ions, and electron de-excitation process in several different inorganic compounds by spectroscopy, diffraction and advanced synchrotron radiation-based techniques, and our original findings provide the theoretical guidance in the design and synthesis of advanced materials.
