Born on 22 of June of 1991 at Aveiro, Portugal, João Santos obtained her MSc degree in Biotechnology from University of Aveiro, Portugal, in 2014. During his graduation Santos was awarded with a research grant (Santander-Universities Scholarship Programme) and in the last year of the MSc studies joined to the Process and Product Applied Thermodynamics (PATh) research group, where he developed her MSc thesis within the topic "Designing new downstream processes based in FPLC and ABS methodologies”. João Santos is currently a PhD student in Chemical Engineering at the University of Aveiro, Portugal, working on the development of novel downstream processes using aqueous biphasic systems technology and in the PEGylation field for biopharmaceutical and biosensing proposes. In his PhD he is working in close colaboration with Pharmaceutical Sciencies Department at University of São Paulo (USP), conducted a 1-year period of exchange at Laboratory of Nanobiotechnology in USP.
