Seminar on advanced electrical characterization

The seminar “Advanced electrical characterization with the state-of-the-art lock-in amplifier” took place on 26 March 2026 at CICFANO (University of Aveiro), delivered by Romain Stomp from Zurich Instruments.

The session focused on high-sensitivity methodologies for recovering weak electrical signals, including multifrequency techniques, feedback control optimisation, and high-precision impedance measurements. These approaches are essential in fields such as microscopy, sensing, and systems affected by significant experimental noise.

The seminar brought together students and researchers, fostering knowledge transfer and engagement with state-of-the-art instrumentation. A hands-on component further strengthened experimental competences relevant to research in materials and engineering.

The event was supported by institutions including the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, contributing to scientific capacity building and alignment with international practices.
