Cátia Monteiro, a researcher with the COMPASS research group at CICECO – Aveiro Institute of Materials and the Department of Chemistry at the University of Aveiro, has been selected to take part in the 75th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting, one of the most prestigious international scientific gatherings, bringing together outstanding young scientists and Nobel Prize laureates.
Participation in this meeting stands out for bringing together young researchers with highly relevant academic and scientific backgrounds from institutions around the world, fostering interdisciplinary dialogue and the sharing of top-level scientific knowledge.
The 2026 edition will focus on an interdisciplinary approach to science, encouraging discussion of global challenges and interaction between different fields of knowledge, in a unique environment for learning and collaboration.
During the meeting, which will take place in Lindau, Germany, from June 28 to July 3, participants will have the opportunity to attend lectures, take part in scientific debates, and interact directly with Nobel Prize laureates as well as other young international researchers. This experience fosters the creation of global scientific networks and the development of new perspectives on research and the challenges facing society.
For Cátia, this selection represents "not only enormous recognition of my scientific career, but also a unique opportunity to connect with some of the most influential minds in science today, with whom I will certainly have the chance to discuss ideas that could shape the future of science and the world."
