Adapting Manufacturing Processes for Energy Savings

Description

The objective of reducing energy consumption in the manufacturing process is integral to the vision of Industry 4.0, which promotes the shift towards smart manufacturing. This involves utilising technologies in data monitoring and artificial intelligence to optimise processes and enhance efficiency, reducing the energy used to produce parts with lower impact on quality and productivity. In alignment with the INSA Group's focus on societal challenges (Systems and Digital Data for Society), this project aims to explore the complementary competence of ECIU partners for choosing the better manufacturing parameters and integrating process sensors. A system integrates real-time data from the machines and external sensors and it allows researchers to create bricks to correct the parameters and improve the process using digital modelling. As noted by our local partners, the project will contribute with international efforts toward cleaner production.
