Supervisor of 11 PhD thesis and 60 MSc dissertations. Manager of more than 35 scientific/technological projects. Co-author of 5 patents, 1 book, 3 book chapters and of about 220 papers in journals included in the Science Citation Index.Referee of 45 international scientific journals included in SCI. H-index=29 (Web of Science).

Scientific Interests

Synthesis by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) of carbon nanostructures and carbon-based coatings (microcrystalline and nanocrystalline diamond, carbon nanotubes, graphene) for mechanical components, electronics and biomedicine applications.

Atomic layer deposition (ALD) of ultrathin coatings for microelectronics, catalysis and applications in energy related fields.

Processing and mechanical behaviour of ceramic materials and ceramic matrix composites.
