Nascida a 3 de Março no Alentejo, Sónia N. Pedro concluiu a sua licenciatura em Bioquímica em 2014, na Unversidade de Aveiro onde, posteriormente, concluiu em 2016 o mestrado em Bioquímica, com especialização em Bioquímica Clínica. Atualmente é aluna de doutoramento do programa doutoral em Bioquímica, sendo o seu trabalho desenvolvido no Instituto de Materiais da Universidade de Aveiro, CICECO.
Os seus atuais interesses de investigação, focados também na sua actual tese, estão relacionados com a investigação de novas formulações de princípios ativos com caracteristícas melhoradas e o estudo e desenvolvimento de sistemas de administração de fármacos à base de biopolímeros.
