João A. P. Coutinho has been officially ratified by the CICECO Scientific Council for a second term as the Director of CICECO – Aveiro Institute of Materials. The ratification vote took place on 14 July, following the presentation of his strategic programme for the 2027–2031 mandate.
CorkSat completes first development phase towards future Earth orbit mission
The CorkSat has successfully completed the first phase of its development, demonstrating its data transmission capability after a test flight. The project, which brings together researchers, professors, and students from different fields, now plans to conduct tests at higher altitudes before its eventual placement in Earth orbit.
