Beatriz Agostinho

Estudante de doutoramento

Short CV

Beatriz Agostinho completed her master’s degree in Chemical Engineering (2019) from the University of Coimbra, specializing in Process, Environment and Energy. Her dissertation on ‘Supercritical fluid drying of natural-based aerogels for biomedical applications’ (September 2019),  was inserted in the project: “Green method to prepare sterilized biopolymers-based aerogel” – STERILAEROGEL, in which she continued contributing after her master’s degree, from which resulted in a paper currently in preparation for publishing. During her studies, she completed two summer internships, one in ‘Innovnavo – Materiais Avançados, S.A.’ (2017) and the other one in the Department of Chemical Engineering of University of Coimbra (2018). From her further collaboration in this last internship (2018 – 2019) originated the paper ‘Impact of the pinewood nematode on naturally-emitted volatiles and scCO2 extracts from Pinus pinaster branches: a comparison with P. pinea’ which she’s a co-author. She is currently a research fellow at CICECO – Aveiro Institute of Materials, University of Aveiro where she works on the design of new polymers and their (bio)degradation study.
