João Pedro de Sousa Peres Oliveira Ribeiro completed his PhD in Environmental Sciences and Engineering in 2024 by Universidade de Aveiro, Master Degree in Environmental Engineering in 2013 by Universidade de Aveiro, and Graduation in Environmental Engineering in 2011 by Universidade de Aveiro.

Currently a Junior Researcher at CICECO - Aveiro Institute of Materials, his main research interests include (waste)water treatment, advanced oxidation processes, catalysis, membrane separation, pollution prevention and remediation, circular economy, valorisation of wastes and industrial by-products, and industrial eco-efficiency and sustainability.

To the present, João P. Ribeiro has published 14 articles in international peer reviewed journals (h-index 9, SCOPUS) and 12 conference papers (2 of them also indexed in SCOPUS). He has also delivered 18 communications in international scientific meetings, and acted as a reviewer for over 50 articles distributed by 15 international journals. He was part of the organisation of several science dissemination events, where he showed to the scientific community and general public the relevance of his research. These events included national events (e.g., Encontro Ciência), Aveiro Municipality events (Aveiro Techdays/Techweek), and University of Aveiro events (OpenCampus, Summer Academy, Xperimenta, DAO Open Day, Research@DAO, among others).
