João Miguel Campos

Post-doc Fellowship

Short CV

J.M. Campos graduated in Chemical Engineering (Applied Chemistry) by the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Lisbon, in 1997. He started his scientific research activities in the field of synthesis and modification of functional polyolefins, as research fellow, in 1998. In this position he participated in several FCT-funded research projects, including a short collaborative interchange at the Instituto de Macromoléculas, Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (Brasil). After a couple of years spent working in the field of IT, he returned to scientific research and obtained his PhD degree in Chemical Engineering, also by the IST, in 2009, with a thesis on olefin polymerisation catalysts supported on mesoporous materials, preparation of HDPE-mesoporous silica nanocomposites and their characterisation using an array of techniques. In 2010 he started a post-doctoral research grant, in the field of biodegradable polyesters, a research shared between the IST and the LCPO in Bordeaux (France), funded by the FCT. He joined the CICECO in 2013, investigating the preparation of PLLA-graphene hybrids in the context of another post-doctoral research grant.
