Carlos Miguel Santos Vicente received the PhD degree in Physics from the University of Aveiro in 2012. He is currently Post-Doctoral associate (FCT grant SRFH/BPD/87473/2012) in CICECO and IT-Instituto de Telecomunicações on the subject: “Photonic devices based on sol gel materials for optical signal processing”. He is also participating on the project, Organic-inorganic hybrids with enhanced light-emitting properties for the new generation of optical communications”, (FCT, PTDC/CTM/101324/2008). His present research interests include: functional organic-inorganic hybrid materials, optical communications, integrated optic devices and microfabrication.
