Rafael N. Francisco completed his bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology in 2013 and his master degree in Industrial Biotechnology in 2015, both at University of Aveiro. His MSc thesis developed under the supervision of Dr. Mara Freire and Dr. Ricardo Vieira-Pires focused on the  Solubilisation of membrane proteins using ionic liquids.

Rafael is currently a PhD student in Chemical Engineering at University of Aveiro. He is working under the supervision of Dr. Mara Feire and Dr. Ana Catarina Sousa on the development of novel technologies for the removal of cytostatic drugs.
