Pedro Ouro got his B.Sc. degree in Biochemistry and his M.Sc. degree in Chemistry, both in the University of Aveiro.In 2020, in the scope of his bachelor's final project, he developed radiopharmaceuticals based on pyrazoles for diagnosis using positron emission tomography (PET). Based on this project, he was able to co-author a review paper “Styrylpyrazoles: Properties, Synthesis and Transformations, Molecules”. In 2022, in the scope of his master's thesis, he developed injectable and printable hydrogels for applications in tissue engineering. In 2023, Pedro started his Ph.D. studies in Team Specko (ERC PhD Grant) under the supervision of Dr. Luis Mafra, Dr. Marina Ilkaeva, and Dr. Mariana Sardo. His research focuses on the synthesis and post-synthetic modification of external stimuli-responsive adsorbents and membranes for CO2 sequestration.
