Hydrothermal Synthesis and Crystal Structure of a Two Dimensional Pb(II) Complex Based on 2-(2-Carboxyphenyl)-1H-imidazo[4,5-f][1,10]phenanthroline

A coordination polymer, [PbL2](n) (1) (HL=2-(2-carboxyphenyl)-1H-imidazo [4,54] [1,10]phenanthroline) has been hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by IR spectrum, elemental analysis and X-ray single-crystal diffraction. Complex 1 crystallizes in monoclinic, space group P2(1)/c with a=1.345 85(9) nm, b =0.709 43(5) nm, c=3.265 5 (2) nm, beta=99.626 0 (10)degrees, V=3.074 0 (4) nm(3), Z=4, C40H22NO4Pb, Mr=885.85, D-c=1.914 g.cm(-3), mu(Mo K alpha)=5.551 mm(-1), F(000)=1 728, GOOF=1.038, the final R=0.027 0 and wR=0.058 1 for 5 067 observed reflections (1>2 sigma-(0). Structural analysis shows that the complex 1 presents a two dimensional layer structure. Thermal stability and luminescent property were also investigated. CCDC: 900402.
