About Catarina Ribeiro

Catarina Ribeiro has a degree in Chemistry from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto, and a master's degree in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Minho. Her thesis was based on the synthesis and biological evaluation of metabolites of polyphenols from extra-virgin olive oil.

To accomplish this aim, she has recently joined CICECO Institute of Materials - University of Aveiro and now she is focused on the synthesis of novel electroactive organic ligands and Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) for energy storage applications, with a grant in the frame of FCT project "Materials for Lithium-Ion Battery Electrodes Based on Metal-Organic Networks with Redox Activity" (PTDC/QUIELT/2593/2021), under the supervision of professor Manuel Souto and co-supervision of professor João Rocha.

Besides her interest in Chemistry, Catarina is also a Ballroom dancer. In Championship level, Catarina competed in national championships. Now her interest is in teaching ballroom dancing to children and adults.
