The infrastructures offer essential equipment and materials for a broad spectrum of additive manufacturing processes. These facilities support various research fields, including electrical, sustainable development, and biomedical applications, with equipment specifically tailored to these areas. Additionally, pre – processing and post-processing tools are available for materials processed through additive manufacturing.
The infrastructure aims to supply in-house support for prototype development and research of new AM materials. It is possible to print polymers (ABS, PET, PLA, PEEK, CRF-PEEK, PP, PU, among others), photosensitive resines, ceramic pastes, inks and suspensions.

The facilities for processing and fabricating materials using additive manufacturing (AM) techniques are managed across various fields of study and supervisors. For materials used electronic applications the work is supported by Professor Paula Vilarinho. Dr. Idalina Gonçalves oversees materials for sustainable applications, while Professor Susana Olhero and Professor Vítor Sencadas supervise materials for biomedical applications. Additionally, some equipment is directly supervised by DEMaC.
