Vinícius de Paula is a dedicated individual with a passion for sustainable materials and innovative solutions. He holds a Masters degree in Chemical Engineering (2023) from the University of Aveiro, Portugal, and his academic thesis, "Recycling of polymers: a case study on poly(ethylene terephthalate) and poly(ethylene 2,5-furandicarboxylate)", developed within the scope of FUR4Sustain European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) Action CA18220, earned remarkable recognition.

Currently, he is a PhD Candidate and Research Fellow at CICECO: Aveiro Institute of Materials, playing a pivotal role in the "ABSolEU" project, under the Horizon Europe programme (HORIZON-CL4-2021-RESILIENCE-01-Project: 101058636), pioneering the physical recycling of ABS with a circular economy approach. The project is a collaborative effort involving many additional partners, including prominent companies like LEGO, BIC, and Volvo Cars, further strengthening its impact across the ABS value chain.

Vinícius' research interests encompass a wide range of areas within chemistry and materials science. He possesses expertise in programming in MATLAB, polymer synthesis and characterization, and is well-versed in various computational techniques. Moreover, he is an extremely versatile individual with a resonating passion for arts, receiving certifications in areas such as classical music theory, performance and arts in educational contexts.

In addition to his research, Vinícius actively contributes to the academic community and has been involved in the organization of multiple events. He is actively involved in fostering diversity and inclusion, showcasing his commitment to a more equitable future.
