Structural and Magnetic Properties of Co2+:ZnO Nanoparticles

abstract

Here we report on the magnetic properties of Co2+:ZnO nanoparticles synthesized using an oxalate precursor decomposition method. XRD profiles show that these materials are in hexagonal wurtzite structures. The crystallite size of the sample has been examined using TEM. In order to verify the lattice site occupancy and valence state of the cobalt ion, an EPR spectrum also been measured for these samples. The magnetization measurements have been done and based on the results it has been observed that these samples possess ferromagnetic property.
