PhD student at Universidade de Aveiro and CEBAL (Centro de Biotecnologia Agrícola e Agro-Alimentar do Alentejo). Thesis: “Molecular regulation of cork development – role of the QsMYB1 transcription factor” supervised by Doutora Sónia Gonçalves  and Prof. Conceição Santos.

Previous activities

2006-2008 Master student at the laboratory of Biotechnology and Cytometry, Biology Department, Universidade de Aveiro.

2004-2005 R&D technician at MEDINFAR (pharmaceutical company), where she was responsible for the development and validation of analytical methods for raw material and end product analysis.

2002-2004 Research fellow at Unidade de Proteínas e Anticorpos Monoclonais, INETI (Instituto Nacional de Engenharia e Tecnologia Industrial) where she worked on the project “Searching for Nitrile Hydratase in Rhizobium”.

Academic degrees

2008 Master (MSc) in Molecular Microbiology, Universidade de Aveiro. Thesis: “Toxicidade de cimentos ósseos de base acrílica: estudos in vitro” supervised by Prof. Conceição Santos and Prof. Rui Nunes Correia.

2002 “Licenciatura” degree in Applied Chemistry to Biotechnology, Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologias, Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
