Ferrihydrite antiferromagnetic nanoparticles in a sol-gel derived organic-inorganic matrix

abstract

Magnetic properties of anti ferromagnetic ferrihydrite nanoparticles within a sol-gel derived organic-inorganic matrix, with sizes depending on iron loading are investigated. Above the irreversibility, the magnetization can be fitted with a Langevin function added to a linear term, yielding an estimation of the particles mean radius, comparable with previous X-ray diffraction and small-angle X-ray scattering results.
