Dielectric properties of relaxor ceramics BBT

abstract

In this paper we report the dielectric investigation results of BaBi2Ta2O9 (BBT) ceramics performed in a broad frequency and temperature range. It is shown, that this ceramics possesses the ferroelectric relaxor behaviour. A very diffuse phase transition is observed in the whole measured temperature range and the dielectric permittivity exhibits a strong dispersion in the frequency range from Hz to microwaves where the maximum of permittivity, T-max, shifts to higher temperature as the frequency increases. From the frequency dependences of the real and imaginary parts of dielectric permittivity the parameters of dielectric dispersion have been calculated.
