BioTapResin Wins Again: Nalin Borges and Inês Farias Shine at ArriscaC2025

BioTapResin, a project focused on sustainable and innovative biomaterials, has once again stood out — this time securing a podium finish in the Sustainable Innovation category at ArriscaC2025. Led by Nalin Borges and Inês Farias, the project was recognized for its environmental impact, technological potential, and strong market relevance.

This latest recognition adds to a growing list of accolades for BioTapResin (more), which has become a reference in the development of eco-friendly alternatives to conventional resins through bio-based solutions.

Reflecting on the achievement, Nalin Borges noted:

“In a business idea competition, an award is more than just recognition — it’s a sign of potential and often the starting point for new opportunities and challenges.”

The award was presented as part of the Arrisca C, a national Business Idea Competition organized by the University of Coimbra. With a 12-edition legacy, the initiative rewards science- and technology-based business ideas that show potential for impact across multiple sectors.

The main goal of Arrisca C is to contribute to the creation of academic and business spin-offs and startups, by:

  • Promoting an innovative culture;

  • Stimulating entrepreneurship and the transfer of knowledge and technology from academic research and development;

  • Showcasing and valuing business ideas grounded in scientific or technological expertise;

  • Supporting sustainable economic and social development.

With this latest success, BioTapResin continues to build momentum toward commercialization and reinforces its role in Portugal’s growing innovation ecosystem.
