European Academy of Sciences renews commitment to João Rocha

João Rocha, a researcher at CICECO - Aveiro Institute of Materials at Universidade de Aveiro (UAveiro) has been re-elected as a member of the Scientific Committee of the Chemistry Division of the European Academy of Sciences (EurASc). This re-election, which marks his third and final term, is continued recognition of the exceptional contribution of João Rocha's work to the European scientific community.

A full professor at the Department of Chemistry of UAveiro, João Rocha is also the director of the Portuguese Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Center and the Portuguese government's representative on the European Commission's Technology Council for Advanced Materials. Between 2002 and 2021, he headed CICECO, consolidating its reputation as an international reference in the field of materials.

João Rocha's new term on the Scientific Committee of EurASc's Chemistry Division will last three years, from May 2025 to April 2028, in accordance with the Academy's statutes.
