The jubilee volume “100 years of ferroelectricity 1921 – 2021” published two works that had the participation of two researchers from the University of Aveiro (UA): Alexander Tkach and Paula M. Vilarinho, both from the Department of Materials and Ceramics Engineering, and CICECO – Aveiro Institute of Materials, in collaboration with the group of Professor Wolfgang Kleemann, from the University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany.
Recently published in World Scientific Publ. Co., Singapore, under the Editorial of Julio A. Gonzalo, G. Lifante and F. Jaque, Universidad Autonomá de Madrid, Spain, the 200-page book contains 24 reprints of selected scientific works on Ferroelectrics, from 1921-1961 ( ch. 1), 1961–2001 (ch. 2) and 2001–2021 (ch. 3). The editors decided on the book's content after consulting various (uncited) experts in the field.
For researchers, being selected to be part of this elite in the field of Ferroelectric Materials was a surprise and a huge honor. “Seeing our research work on SrTiO3 distinguished here is a valuable recognition. To be part of a selection of works, in which some of the most distinguished scientists in the world are found, who have contributed to the Science of Ferroelectric Materials, during the last 100 years, is a great distinction and privilege! We feel extremely honored”, congratulate researchers Alexander Tkach and Paula M. Vilarinho.
