
The new journal called IEEE Sensors Review, from the world's largest professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for humanity, has Carlos Marques, professor and researcher at the University of Aveiro (UA), as its editor-in-chief.
“This appointment as editor-in-chief for the new journal of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) demonstrates that dedication and hard work pay off. It is a tremendous international recognition of my work in sensors. I was delighted when I received the email with this news,” says the professor from the Department of Physics and researcher at CICECO - Aveiro Institute of Materials, one of UA's research units.
Focused on all types of sensors existing in different application areas, technology which is increasingly important in this new Era of Digitalization, Sensors Review, as its first head anticipates, “will be a journal of great importance to the scientific community working on sensors in various application topics, and I hope to promote quality review work with high impact on science and society.”
An expert in photonic sensors and devices, Carlos Marques holds a PhD in Physical Engineering from UA.
