ScienceCast: Paula Ferreira and the magic world of materials
Formulating a material that solves a specific problem is the daily challenge in Paula Ferreira's routine. For the senior researcher at CICECO - Institute of Materials at the University of Aveiro, the words creativity and function guide the core of her research. These include nanoporous materials or piezoelectricity... packaging that indicates food shelf life or reduces the size of computers.
 

She has worked in France, Scotland, and other places around the world, but it is in Aveiro where she feels at home to conduct her research.
