João Tedim awarded by the Federation of European Materials Societies

Created in 2018, the FEMS (Federation of European Materials Societies) Award aims to distinguish young European scientists in the field of materials who have stood out for the high quality of their research work, both in industry and academia. The award also aims to encourage the presentation of work by scientists and engineers of promising materials, acting as “ambassadors” to the materials scientific community.

At the award ceremony, João Tedim, researcher from CICECO and Lecturer at the Department of Materials and Ceramic Engineering (DEMaC), assures that: “I am really grateful for this award. On the one hand, it reflects the quality of the research carried out by our research group and our ability to communicate and involve different audiences. On the other, it is a great responsibility, because it is necessary to continue this work to attract the younger generations, showing them the relevance of materials in our society.”
