Moisés Luzia Pinto (b. 1976) obtained the Ph.D. in Chemistry (Physical Chemistry), at the end of 2005, at the University of Lisbon. Developed Post-doctoral research at the Center of Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon (CQB) and at the Centre for Research in Ceramics and Composite Materials (CICECO) of the University of Aveiro. In 2009 he had an internship at the adsorption microcalorimentry laboratory of "Instituto de Química-Física Rocasolano", CSIC, Spain, and in 2011, at the porous solids laboratory of "Institut Lavoisier Versailles", CNRS, France. From 2013, he is Research Assistant at CICECO, contracted under the Investigador FCT programme (2013- , Eq. Inv. Aux.).

In 2005 he was finalist of the COHiTEC contest, promoted by COTEC and lectured by the HiTEC center of the North Carolina State University together with the Faculty of Economy of UNL, which included the development of a Business Plan based on the production technology of polyurethane filters with supported adsorbents. He got the second prize of the XXXIII Reunión Iberica de Adsorción for the best scientific poster, in 2008. The article entitled "Controlled release of therapeutic nitric oxide from nanoporous materials" was selected by the Atomium Culture Scientific Committee, in the 2011 call, to be published by the Permanent Platform of Atomium Culture, which involves leading European newspapers. In 2012 he got the Prize Giorgio Zgrablich for the work presented at the 1st Ibero-American Symposium on Adsorption.

Following a successful project, funded by the NEOTEC program, based on his Ph.D. research work, he cofounded a company with some colleagues and was appointed Chairman of the BOD from 2007 to 2010. Currently he is Chairman of the General Assembly of Shareholders.

Scientific Interests

MLP develops research work in the field of adsorbent materials, namely in the synthesis and characterization of adsorbent materials and composite adsorbent/polymer materials, and in gas and VOC mixture separations. More recently, he is developing research in the field of nanoporous materials obtained from clays and hybrid organic/inorganic materials, for purification, storage and controlled release of gases.
