Sandra Pereira Magina

Researcher

Short CV

Sandra Magina studied Chemistry ‒ Analytical Chemistry at the University of Aveiro and received her master in Materials Science and Engineering (2007) and her doctorate in Chemical Engineering (2021) from the same institution. Her research is mostly focused on the valorization of forest biomass, agricultural and agro-industrial residues and by-products and the development of new materials from lignin for different applications. She has also been involved in R&D projects in collaboration with several companies.

Since March 2023, she is a junior researcher within PRR Project “BE@T – Sustainable Bioeconomy for Textile and Clothing” (01/C12-i01/2021), focused on developing materials from lignin for textile and clothing applications.

She is co-author of 25 peer-reviewed scientific journals and 25 communications at national and international conferences with a h-index of 12 (Scopus) and over 700 citations.
