Synthesis, structure, luminescence and magnetic properties of the coordination polymer {[Eu(H2O)(5)][Mo(CN)(8)]}infinity containing bridging cyanide ligands

abstract

The reaction of [Eu(H2O)(6)](NO3)(3) and [N(C4H9)(4)](3)[Mo(CN)(8)]center dot 2H(2)O afforded a new two-dimensional coordination polymer {[Eu(H2O)(5)[Mo(CN)(8)]}infinity (1) in which the europium and molybdenum atoms are bound through the bridging CN groups. The luminescence and magnetic properties of complex 1 were studied in a wide temperature range.
