Anuraag Gaddam

Assistant Researcher

About

Anuraag Gaddam is an Assistant Researcher at the CICECO - Aveiro Institute of Materials, University of Aveiro. His research involves studying glass structure by NMR and computational methods. And also establishing the glass structure-property correlations.

He obtained his PhD in materials engineering from the University of Aveiro, Portugal in 2016. Prior to that, he obtained an integrated master’s degree (B-Tech and M-Tech) from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay), India in 2012. His research career started in 2011 with a master’s project involving the development of lithium disilicate-based glass-ceramics for dental Applications. Immediately after graduation, he pursued his PhD with the title “Structure and crystallization of multi-component lithium silicate-based glasses”. This involved correlating glass structure with its properties and its crystallization behaviour in multicomponent lithium silicate-based glasses. After PhD, he did a postdoc until 2021 at the University of Aveiro working on the mathematical modelling of glass structure based on statistical mechanics. From 2021 to 2023, he pursued another postdoc at the University of São Paulo working on the NMR characterization of various glass systems.
