Sónia Ventura Contributes to Vision for European Algae Biomass Development

Sónia Ventura, a researcher at CICECO – Aveiro Institute of Materials and the Department of Chemistry at the University of Aveiro, took part for the third consecutive year as a member of the Steering Board of the European Algae Biomass Association (EABA), during a key strategic meeting held from March 28 to 30 in Málaga, Spain.

The gathering brought together experts, researchers, industry leaders, and policymakers for a productive discussion on the progress and future of algae biomass in Europe. As part of the Steering Board, Ventura contributed to shaping the direction of EABA’s ongoing initiatives, reflecting on achievements to date while charting new paths forward.

EABA plays a pivotal role in fostering collaboration and innovation in the field of algae biomass. Its mission is to facilitate knowledge exchange and cooperation among stakeholders, enhance industrial and scientific synergies, and advocate for member interests at both European and international levels.

Through her involvement, Ventura continues to represent Portuguese scientific excellence and reinforces the University of Aveiro’s active participation in driving forward sustainable solutions based on algae technologies.
