José Maria Ferreira among the best in the world

José Maria Ferreira, CICECO and Department of Materials Engineering and Ceramics (DEMAC) researcher, is the newest member of the World Academy of Ceramics and thereby became, starting this week, in the only Portuguese to be invited to make part of a group consisting of the world's top scientists in the field. The statutes of the Academy, consisting by nearly 200 members, only allow to open the doors to researchers whose work is "an outstanding international contribution to the advancement of ceramics". The World Academy of Ceramics was founded in 1987 and is a center of excellence for the international scientific community that fosters technological progress in the field of ceramics.

"I am very pleased with this invitation to join a group where people are the most reputable in the world of ceramics", welcomes José Maria Ferreira wich acknowledge that: "We have been doing a great job in this area along the years."
