João Pedro Fernandes Carvalho

PhD Student

Biography

João Carvalho has a graduation in Biomedical Sciences (2016) and a master’s degree in clinical Biochemistry (2018) by the University of Aveiro (UA, Portugal). He is currently a PhD Student at BioPol4Fun group (CICECO - Aveiro Institute of Materiais). He is the author of 13 scientific publications and 1 book chapter, and counts with multiple participations on scientific events like the EPNOE International Polysaccharide Conference, as well as seminars on distinct matters including biomedical sciences, cell-signalling and entrepreneurship. His research interests include the innovative use of biotechnology, biomaterials, and biopolymers for biomedical and drug-delivery applications.

João is also a musician (lyrically-trained singer) who enjoys not only music, but also literature, coffee and chocolate.
