Additive Manufacturing for Industrial Ceramics

Description

AM4CER project aims to research and develop an innovative integrated manufacturing methodology suitable for the utilitarian ceramic industry by including Additive Manufacturing Techniques (AMT) and the development and application of CAD 3D computational tools. This new methodology will be validated through the implementation of two functional pilot units (one unit oriented for robot casting with generation of supports and another using robot casting on preforms) capable of producing customized ceramic pieces without creative restrictions, of good quality, dimensional accuracy, good finishing, and good mechanical properties.

It is expected to achieve enough knowledge that will lead to the availability of new production systems that give intrinsic value to the products, allowing refinement in the superior design with savings in productive resources.
