abstract The amount and composition of wax precipitation were determined as a function of temperature below the wax appearance temperature in the synthetic system decane + (tetracosane-pentacosane-hexacosane). Measurements were performed by filtration and chromatographic analysis of the partially frozen mixtures. Wax contents were obtained from mass balance after correction of the entrapped liquid in the solid residue. Experimental results were compared with the values calculated by various predictive models.
