Description

This Innovation Pact is aimed at developing cellulose-based packaging and products to replace fossil-based plastics. In this context, it comprises the following six work packages: (1) high yield pulp and brown paper; (2) paper with increased mechanical strength; (3) paper with barrier properties; (4) biocomposites; (5) paper sensors for intelligent packaging and (6) moulded pulp for rigid packaging.The Innovation Pact is divided into a set of specific objectives, to be addressed by a consortium of 27 promoters with complementary technical and technological skills.Led by Navigator Paper Setúbal, S.A. (NPS), this consortium brings together the financial capacity and technical resources needed to implement this pact, involving investment of €118.6 million in different corporate reindustrialisation projects based on R&D and innovation.
