Description
AM4CER project is focused on providing practical and incisive answers to some of these challenges. Specifically, it seeks solutions that contribute to the reduction of the environmental impact generated by plastics: currently, 60% of the plastic produced worldwide (about 359 million tons in 2018) generated significant waste that was dumped in landfills or subjected to incineration processes.
This project aims to study, develop, and produce compostable and/or biodegradable bioplastic and biocomposite formulations for applications in the flexible (coatings), semi-rigid and rigid plastic sectors. The competitiveness of these new solutions will be assessed by their potential to enter the market occupied by conventional plastics. The B2-SOLUTIONS project assumes an innovative performance in view of the current world panorama (in which the plastics sector is largely anchored in fossil origin solutions), through the design and development of B2-SOLUTIONS bioplastic and biocomposite formulations incorporating raw materials of natural, biological and/or biotechnological, origin and biodegradable materials. The project intends to contribute effectively for the transition from the linear economy model to a circular economy model, focusing on the development of evolutionary, synergistic, innovative, extensible and applicable to several markets’ solutions.Main Local Researcher
