Descrição
Foram seleccionados e adquiridos três conjuntos de equipamento de análise térmica (DSC, DMA/DMTA e DSC/TG) com base nas especificações nominais e custos e também num conjunto de resultados de ensaios experimentais específicos por nós exigidos às marcas concorrentes, que foram objectivamente analisados e classificados. Após a chegada dos equipamentos e uma longa espera pelo avanço da construção do edifício onde se situará o laboratório definitivo, outro laboratório (num edifício já existente) teve de ser preparado e equipado de raiz para concretizar mais rapidamente a instalação das infraestruturas. Com a intervenção directa do investigador responsável, treinaram-se utilizadores, tanto nas vertentes teórica como prática, e os equipamentos apoiaram já actividades de investigação muito diversificadas com realce para as que envolveram DSC e DMA, já que a exiguidade do espaço actualmente disponível (15 m2, com largura de apenas 2.5 m, vs. um quadrado de 24 m2 no futuro laboratório a partir de Setº/Outº) e a existência de outro equipamento de TGA de mais baixas especificações desaconselharam a utilização simultânea corrente dos três conjuntos de equipamentos no actual espaço de recurso.
