Armando J. D. Silvestre, born in 11.02.1968 in Vagos, married two daughters;

He lectured theoretical, TP and lab classes of large number of courses (mainly in the general chemistry and organic chemistry fields) of the  “Licenciatura” degrees in Chemistry, in Industrial Chemistry, in Biochemistry and Food Chemistry

Lectured several theoretical classes related to advanced chromatographic and separation techniques in several master degrees in the Chem Dept, UA.

Participates in several Chem Dept activities, namely has Director of the Chemistry degree, and vice-director of the Master degree in Materials from renewable resources. He is also the Erasmus coordinator of the Dept.

He is responsible for several  GC, GC-MS LC-MS at the Dept.

In the last few years has been actively involved in the Bologna process implementation at UA.

He has (co)supervised  18 MSc, and 11 Ph thesis already concluded. Presently he supervises 3 PhD and 3 MSc students.

Is presently member of the Editorial Advisory Board do Industrial Crops and Products.

He has been member of the Editorial Advisory Board do Journal of Wood chemistry and Technology.

He is a regular Referee of several scientific journals.

He is author/co-author of 8 book chapters of around 180 papers in SCI journals.
